Firstly, I would like to thank my good friend Matt Green for introducing me to the idea of blogging about my living situation with my live in boyfriend, Kelly. Kelly also has a blog, and the idea was to re-create the events that normal couples experience, by documenting the different views of an event (probably due to gender). However, somehow Kelly and I always find ourselves in abnormal situations with stories that leave our friends in hilarity.
History lesson #1: How did Kelly and Megan come to live together?
After a stint of dating, Kelly and I took a break. During this break I found myself without a roommate, with my name on two rent leases, and all my available cash put into my brand new car! As the date approached that I was to move out of my apartment, I was getting desperate for a place to live. I was even considering living with a guy I didn't know with dreadlocks, because the rent was cheap and it was close to campus. This is when I thought of living with Kelly. Though we were not dating, we barely went a day without talking and did not seriously date other people.
ASIDE I:Kelly has a extraordinary way of analytical thinking. Perhaps it has something to do with the Marines, or maybe it's due to my extremely abstract way of thinking. Either way, points of thought have to be carefully constructed on my part.
Due to Aside I, I began formulating my argument for moving in together to present to Kelly. Surprisingly, the debate didn't last long and it was decided that we would move in together. Although we were not currently dating, we took the plunge and decided that friends/exes could TOTALLY live together in harmony. Of course, Kelly had a concern that my 100 lb. dog Sammy would eat his 5 lb cat House. With the promise of a flat screen TV if Sammy ate House, we signed the lease agreement for 12 months in a two bedroom apartment...together...not dating...with 1 shower.
So began the journey, rather Escapades, formally known as Megan and Kelly living together.
